Salem police log, Oct. 21-22

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Sunday and Monday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of a law:

Sunday, Oct. 21

5:06 p.m. A male party walked into the police station to report a stolen iphone4. He related that he let a person use his phone while he was on the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall, and the person then fled on foot with someone known to him.

5:16 p.m. Officers assigned to the Point neighborhood bike patrol assisted on Essex Street on a call of partied throwing bottles down from the parking garage onto the patio of the Village Tavern. They also assisted on another call at Village Tavern for a female party refusing to leave.

6:30 p.m. Police responded to Summer Street on a report of a party threatened with a firearm.

9:57 p.m. A party reported that a car on Aborn Street owned by another party was egged sometime last night. She also related that about one month ago she found a broken beer bottle and a burned, handheld American flag on her steps.

11:27 p.m. Police responded to a report of females causing a disturbance. Upon a arrival, one female party stated she was having a conversation with her sister, who was "three blocks away." She was advised to use the telephone or speak in closer proximity at this time of night.

Monday, Oct. 22

12:14 a.m. Police responded to a report of a past burglary on Washington Street.

1:40 a.m. Police responded to a report of a coyote in the street on Fort Avenue. It went back into the woods.

8:27 a.m. Police removed a hypodermic needle from Congress Street.

8:52 a.m. Police responded to a past hit-and-run on Hawthorne Boulevard.

9:51 a.m. Police responded to a report of a man with a sword at Jefferson Avenue and Willson Street. He was gone on arrival.

2:30 p.m. Police responded to a Beer Works on a report of a male customer causing problems. Manager states that a male party came in, ordered a beer and began swearing at other customers. He was asked to leave and he did. Officers could not locate anyone fitting the description.

Arrests:

Matthew R. LaChappelle, of 74 Tirrell Street, Quincy, will be charged with violating the city knife ordinance.

Kelly E. Shannon, of 111 East Street, Foxborough, will be charged with disorderly conduct.

Michael John Dumais, of 16 Lathrop Street, will be charged with uttering a false prescription, uttering a forged instruction, and receiving stolen property $250 or less.

Daniel Austin Jacques, of 3 Skerry Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Joseph A. Pinto, of 12 Pope Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
