The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Saturday and Sunday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Saturday, Oct. 13
12:45 a.m. Police responded to a fight in front of Rockafellas on the corner of Essex and Washington Street. A male party was sent on his way after being observed in a physical altercation with an unknown male and Rockafellas staff. Rockafellas management declined to take further action.
2:57 a.m. Police responded to a report of a possible drunk male near East India Square. A female party reported seeing a possibly drunk male grab another unknown female's arm and yell "Are you okay? Do you need help?" The male then let go and began to stagger away and the female walked away. Officers were unable to locate the male party, and the female who was grabbed left the area prior to police arrival.
11:23 a.m. Police responded to a hit-and-run in the Target parking lot on Highland Avenue. Offending party was contacted via phone and stated that she was unaware that she had struck another vehicle while she was backing up from her spot.
12:43 p.m. Police responded to a report of a party throwing eggs at cars on Orne Street. Unable to locate the party.
5:10 p.m. Police responded to a the Boston Hot Dog Company on Washington Street on a report of a past attempted breaking and entering to the ATM.
7:29 p.m. Police responded to a report of parties throwing eggs in the area of Kernwood Street and Liberty Hill Avenue. Unable to locate parties.
8:56 p.m. Police responded to a disturbance on Derby Street. A male party was walking up behind people and screaming in their ears, scaring them. He was very uncooperative and not answering officers' basic questions regarding his identification. Police eventually identified and sent him on his way.
Sunday, Oct. 14
1:26 a.m. Police responded to a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle on March Street.
9:40 a.m. Police responded to a report of a past breaking and entering to a motor vehicle on First Street.
Jeffrey S. Curran Jr., of 118 North Street, will be charged with larceny and two counts of breaking and entering.
Daniel T. Hegarty, of 18 Connor Road, Beverly, will be charged with disorderly conduct, minor in possession of alcohol and resisting arrest.
Thomas J. Shortt, of 32 Whittier Avenue, Waltham, will be charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
Christopher T. St. John, of 2 Chase Street, Beverly, will be charged with larceny and two counts of breaking and entering.
David L. Thomas, of 63 Astor Street, Lynn, will be charged with breaking and entering and possession of burglary tools.
Marc L. Tranos, of 47 Memorial Drive, was arrested on the basis of a warrant and will also be charged with illegal possession of a Class B substance and illegal possession of a Class C substance.
