The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Tuesday and Wednesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
Tuesday, Oct. 2
5:58 p.m. Police responded to a hit-and-run in a parking lot on Traders Way. Officers unable to locate the caller.
7:03 p.m. Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian in the area of Lafayette and Palmer Street. Upon arrival, police observed the victim in the roadway, conscious and alert. After a brief investigation, and several witness accounts of her being struck while in the crosswalk, the driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
7:51 p.m. Police responded to a past breaking and entering on Herbert Street.
9:14 p.m. A party reported a moped stolen from the MBTA parking lot sometime during the day after 8 a.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 3
6:58 a.m. Police removed a hypodermic needle from Derby Street.
9:13 a.m. Police responded to a past hit-and-run on Lafayette Street. An officer stood by for 10 minutes and no one came forward, and no motor vehicles with damage at the reported address.
10:21 a.m. Police responded to a report of larceny at Bass River, Inc. on Hanson Street.
1:38 p.m. Police responded to a report of lost teeth on Margin Street. A female party reported that she lost the front bridge of her teeth but she was not sure when, and stated that she checked in with the shelter to see if she might have left them there. She was advised to check with the shelter again.
Franklin Eugene Evans, homeless, was arrested on the bass of a warrant and will also be charged with illegal possession of a Class A substance.
John Joseph Lapointe, homeless, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
Kaitlin Anne Armstrong, of 38 Boston Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
Jacey Hawkins Bonaiuto, of 6A Wisteria Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
Daniel S. Doyle, of 153 North Street was arrested on the basis of six warrants.
Kevin C. Labelle, of 56 Salem Street, was arrested on the basis of two warrants.
Jose J. Rodriguez Jr., of 38 Boston Street, was arrested on the basis of two warrants.
