Salem police log, Nov. 11-12

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Sunday and Monday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Sunday, Nov. 11

6:47 p.m. Police responded to CVS on Highland Avenue on a report of theft of medication. A woman went to CVS to pick up a prescription of Xanax and Neronton, and the pharmacist told her it was already picked up on November 9 by a woman claiming to be her mother. The woman provided the pharmacy with the victim's name, birth date and social security number. Investigation to continue.

7:28 p.m. Police responded to a report of a car accident on Washington Street that turned into a fight.

8:17 p.m. Police responded to a report of a drunk female in the roadway on Highland Avenue. Upon arrival there was no one in the general area.

Monday, Nov. 12

12:01 a.m. Police responded to a report of a person trying to get into a home on Porter Street. Upon arrival, officers searched the area and were unable to locate anyone. Reporting party stated she had heard a noise like someone was trying to get in the front door, and then banging on one of the side windows, She did not see who it was trying to get in.

12:02 a.m. Police responded to a report of a fight in front of Murphy's on Derby Street. Nothing showing inside or outside upon arrival.

8:08 a.m. Police responded to a report of breaking and entering to a motor vehicle. Party reported that sometime after 12:30 a.m. someone popped out the door key lock on her 1996 Honda Civic and stole approximately $30 in cash, two ipods, a CD player, an amplifier, and a "Kicker" brand sub-woofer system. Combined value of the stolen items, approximately $1,130. Two items secured at scene for possible prints.

9:18 a.m. A bike was reported stolen from a backyard on Leach Street.

10:07 a.m. Party reported that she was inside Finz Restaurant on Wharf Street and looked out the rear window to find a white male urinating outside. One of the employees tried to follow him but lost him.

12:05 p.m. Party reported the passenger side front window of his vehicle, which was parked on the roof top level of the garage at the Museum Place Mall, was smashed out with a rock sometime overnight.

4:29 p.m. Police responded to a report of burglary to a residence on Butler Street.

Arrests:

Douglas Fitzpatrick, of 3 Belle Street, Ipswich, will be charged with OUI, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, speed greater than reasonable, U-turn violation, and one-way street violation.

Abiezer Cotto, homeless, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Raymond A. Garland, of 12 Daniels Street, will be charged with illegal possession of a Class C substance, and larceny.

Jonathan S. Silveira, of 25 Aborn Street, Peabody, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.
