Salem police log, Nov. 19-20

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Monday and Tuesday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Monday, Nov. 19

4:26 p.m. A resident of Loring Avenue reported that the front license plate to her and her husband's vehicle was stolen sometime since 4 p.m. on November 17.

4:29 p.m. Police took a report of a hit-and-run on Congress Street.

6:27 p.m. Police responded to a possible altercation on Margin Street.

6:32 p.m. Police responded to a fight on Prince Street. After a brief investigation, one juvenile was placed under arrest. He will be charged with domestic assault, and domestic assault with a dangerous weapon.

9:07 p.m. Police responded to a report of suspicious activity at Publix Storage on Goodhue Street. Two parties were there to check on two storage bins. One of them had bought in an auction. Due to his inability to produce documentation for the bins, he was advised to return tomorrow and obtain a receipt for the bins.

11:25 p.m. Police responded to a neighbor dispute on Ord Street.

Tuesday, Nov. 20

12:47 p.m. Police responded to a report of a coyote in the area of Witchcraft Heights Elementary School. The coyote left the area and two units stood by until school was let out. School was let out without incident and the animal control officer responded as well.

1:30 p.m. Police took a report of a hit-and-run on Bridge Street. The victim was able to provide police with the license plate number of the offending vehicle, and the driver was contacted. Driver stated she did not know the area and where she could pull over, and also thought she had 24 hours to file a report.

3:11 p.m. Police responded to a neighbor dispute on Kosciusko Street.

Arrests:

George C. Covan Jr., of 117 Lafayette Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Francis J. Mosher, of 13 Bryant Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Ana Rodriguez, of 46 Peabody Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant, and will also be charged with two counts of receiving stolen property, and two counts of receiving a stolen credit card.
