Salem police log, Nov. 24-25

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs on Saturday and Sunday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Saturday, Nov. 24

2:34 a.m. Police responded to a report of a party possibly being followed. Caller related that while at Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street a male party inside appeared to be sizing him up to possibly rob him later.

7:02 a.m. Police responded to a report of an undesirable making a mess at the Dunkin' Donuts on Washington Street. One man issued a no trespass order.

8:50 a.m. A woman came into the police station lobby to report that she found evidence of suspicious activity in photos on a cell phone that she found on Lafayette Street on Tuesday.

10:23 a.m. Police responded to a report of breaking and entering to a vehicle on Fairfield Street sometime overnight.

10:51 a.m. Police responded to a disturbance on Barstow Street. Ongoing neighbor dispute, both parties banging on each other's walls to harass each other, advised to be neighborly and stop bothering each other.

11:58 a.m. Police responded to a report of destruction of property. The owner of Imperial Paint on North Street reported that an unknown individual broke the front window to his store.

6:49 p.m. Police took a report of suspicious activity on Highland Avenue.

7:08 p.m. Police responded to a church on Norman Street where the pastor asked that a man be removed to due to comments that were making others uncomfortable.

10:16 p.m. Police responded to a report of a woman wearing a blanket walking in and out of traffic on Lafayette Street. She was found on Liberty Street and taken into protective custody.

Sunday, Nov. 25

1:10 a.m. A man reported a past larceny from his unlocked apartment on Howard Street.

8:04 a.m. Police took a report of a hit-and-run on Lafayette Street at Ocean Avenue.

12:37 p.m. A homeowner on Endicott Street reported two sections of latticework on his property kicked in.

Arrests:

Mark A. Lendall, of 5A Elginwood Road, Peabody, will be charged with possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute.

Valerie C. Mayi, of 43 Boston Street, will be charged with red light or stop sign violation, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a license in possession.

William T. Rinaldi, of 5 Willowbrae Drive, Peabody, will be charged with illegal possession of a Class B substance, possession of a Class D substance with intent to distribute, violating the city knife ordinance, and driving with defective equipment.

Pablo Roman Jr., of 27 Salem Street, will be charged with driving without a license, red light or stop sign violation, and driving with an open alcohol container.

Jose A. Taveras, of 422 Blake Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, was arrested on the basis of a warrant and will also be charged with driving with a revoked license, and a violation of DPW rules and regulations.

Raymond R. Thompson, of 95 Lawrence Street, will be charged with malicious destruction of property over $250, larceny of property $250 or less, and illegal possession of a Class E substance.
