Salem police log, Nov. 25-26

The following was taken from the Salem Police Department logs for Sunday and Monday. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

Sunday, November 25

3:29 p.m. Police responded to a car accident on Jefferson Avenue. Driver reported that he received a cell phone call, and his phone had fallen into the passenger side footwell. When he reached for it, he swerved and struck a parked car. Fire department also on scene to assist.

4:21 p.m. Police responded to a report of an intoxicated male in the parking lot at King's Roast Beef, resulting in the arrest of Mark F. Lovely.

5:16 p.m. Police responded to a downed stop sign at the intersection of Bridge Street and Pleasant Street.

6:19 p.m. A woman filed a walk-in report stating that the cell phone she bought for her grandson was stolen while he was at the YMCA on Leggs Hill Road.

10:51 p.m. Police took a report of a hit-and-run on Tremont Street near School Street sometime overnight.

Monday, November 26

12:16 a.m. Police responded to a report of a past breaking and entering on Cabot Street. Upon arrival, calling party reported that one of her roommates came home yesterday to find both of the front doors open. The roommate closed both doors and went to get some food. When she came back about 20 minutes later, she again found both doors open and the fire alarm on the counter. Nothing was reported stolen.

8:32 a.m. Police took a report of graffiti on a building on Fays Avenue.

11:48 a.m. Police responded to a report of a male party harassing people outside the courthouse. The party was waiting for his friend to get out of court and was advised to stop harassing people as they walked by. He stated he just asked some lawyers a couple of questions but wasn't bothering them. Negative for warrants.

4:07 p.m. Police took a report of a purse theft on Highland Avenue.

Arrests:

Ericson I. Almonte, of 8 Clifton Avenue, will be charged with driving with a suspended license.

Andrew John Balboni, of 87 Leach Street, was arrested on the basis of a warrant.

Randy R. Funicella, of 3 Leach Street, will be charged with open and gross lewdness.

Mark F. Lovely, of 4 Westview Court, Peabody, will be charged with OUI.

Richard S. Scimone, of 92 Southern Avenue, Essex, will be charged with driving with a suspended license, carrying a dangerous weapon (brass knuckles/spring knife), and marked lanes violation.

Peterson Desrosiers, of 60 Dow Street, will be charged with speeding greater than reasonable, driving without a license.
