Executive Chef James Ott hits the kitchen of the Salem Waterfront Hotel and Marina as a new member of the hotelís management team.
As executive chef, Otts is responsible for overseeing and preparing menus and dishes for the hotel's events, said Bill Carroll, general manager of the hotel.
"We wanted to elevate our catering to a new level, and he was the clear choice," Carroll said in a statement. "His reputation in the industry is stellar and like all of our chefs, we put him through an exhaustive menu sampling. His food and sampling presentation exceeded our expectations and he was the obvious choice."
As a master of American Cuisine, Otts has exercised his passion for food at Concord's Colonial Inn and previously served as executive chef at Blue Sky in York, Maine, a five-star restaurant founded by Boston celebrity chef, Lydia Shire.
His specialty, according to Carroll, is a blend of New England favorites and cajun elements.
