The following was submitted by the Enterprise Center:

This is the year for women entrepreneurs! Five women who started and lead their own successful companies will be on the panel when the ninth annual Million Dollar Women Symposium takes place on Wednesday, November 6th at the Hawthorne Hotel (18 Washington Square, West Salem MA).

Every year since 2005, the Enterprise Center at Salem State University has convened this frequently sold-out event (sponsored by Beverly Cooperative Bank) which highlights different aspects of women's success in business. The Enterprise Center is particularly pleased to announce that this year's keynote speaker will be Margaret McKenna, President Emeritus of Lesley University, former president of the Walmart Foundation, and recently appointed member of the Enterprise Center Board of Directors.

The 2013 panel will include Joan Brooks, COO of Garbrook Knowledge Resources of Beverly; Fuchsia McInerny, CEO of Pearse Street Inc. of Salem; Gail Piraino, President of GAP Promotions in Gloucester; and Sue B. Zimmerman, Owner and Founder of Sue.B.Do and Sue B. Zimmerman Enterprises of Wellesley.

"These panelists illustrate the many talented women entrepreneurs working right here on the North Shore," commented Laura Swanson, Enterprise Center COO. "They had an idea, executed it, and have been extremely successful."

The Million Dollar Women Symposium is known for the rare opportunity it provides to hear successful women share, on a very personal level, the challenges they've faced on their way to success. As Christine Sullivan, CEO of the Enterprise Center says, "Perhaps the most important aspect of this symposium is the inspiration it provides. Hearing these women tell their stories is incredibly inspiring, and having the chance to talk with them, ask questions and get their advice is so valued. I hear this again and again from attendees."

Not surprisingly, the Million Dollar Women Symposium often sells out and early registration is suggested. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with a full breakfast buffet, and will conclude by 11:30 a.m. The price is $30 prior to October 26th, and $35 after that date. Special rates for tables of ten are also available. Register at www.enterprisectr.org or by calling 978-542-7523.

The Enterprise Center at Salem State University arms business owners with the knowledge and skills to start their business, grow and succeed. The Enterprise Center is located at 121 Loring Avenue, Salem, MA 01970. Phone: 978-542-7528.
