SCITUATE -- The Scituate Community Preservation Committee is accepting applications for projects to be considered for funding by the panel.

Applications received by Nov. 1 will be considered for Community Preservation Act funds by Annual Town Meeting in April 2010.

Scituate adopted the Community Preservation Act in 2002, allowing the town to collect a 3 percent surcharge on local property taxes to pay for projects and land purchases that preserve the town’s environmental, historical, and recreational resources.

If an applicant is unsure whether a project qualifies under the act, an application for eligibility is available, but must be submitted by Sept. 30 to be considered for the November round of applications.

For more information or to download a copy of the application and eligibility forms, visit the committee’s website at http://town.scituate.ma.us/cpa.
