The position has been vacant since the previous principal, Dick Blake, died in a car accident March 31. Since then, Assistant Superintendent Jim Kelleher has been pitching in at the middle school as an additional administrator.

A committee of parents and teachers, lead by Scituate High School Principal Donna Nuzzo-Mueller, has been working to find the replacement.

The principal would be expected to start work July 1. Then, the process will begin to replace Assistant Principal Sharon E. Seyller, who is moving on.
