Scituate police and state police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Manchester-by-the-Sea resident who was found unconscious in Scituate last weekend.

According to Scituate Police, officers responded to a call of an unconscious person at a house at 153 Clapp Rd. on Sunday morning at 12:20 a.m.

When they arrived, officers found several dozen people at the residence and the unconscious male. Police administered CPR to the victim and transported him South Shore Hospital.

Despite efforts to revive him, Tyler Gothie, from Manchester-by-the-Sea, was pronounced dead at approximately 2:30 a.m, Scituate police said.

The Plymouth District Attorney’s office is also involved in the case and was not immediately available for comment.
