A Scituate man was arrested on Sunday after allegedly jumping out into the roadway and then onto the hood of a stopped car.
According to police, Scituate and Cohasset officers received a disturbance call around Border Street at 11:01 p.m. on Sunday, with a victim saying a man had jumped onto the hood of his car three times and then fled on food.
The victim told police he was driving down the road when the suspect jumped out of a red vehicle parked on the side of the roadway. The victim stopped his car as the suspect walked unsteadily in the road.
Police said when the victim tried to drive around the suspect, the suspect jumped on the hood of the car, scratching the hood. The victim stopped the car until the suspect got off. However, the suspect jumped on the hood two more times and then ran away.
Police arrived and discovered the alleged suspect crouching down at the edge of the wood line. He soon began running towards the driveway yelling and flailing his arms in the area towards a Cohasset Police cruiser.
The Scituate officer then got out of his car and told the suspect to lie down on the ground. The suspect refused and had to be escorted to the ground, police said.
Police said the suspect yelled and resisted arrest until he was handcuffed and put in the back of a police cruiser. Police additionally said the suspect smelled strongly of alcohol.
The suspect admitted to drinking during the course of the evening in Cohasset, police said.
Weston Lilly, 22, from Scituate was charged with malicious damage to a motor vehicle, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.
