Community Action Agency of Somerville to hold annual meeting Oct. 29

As the Great Recession swept though the country, the Community Action Agency of Somerville (CAAS) helped over a thousand people in Somerville to get housing, heat, food, child care, health insurance, and other necessities of life. What will Somerville’s anti-poverty agency be doing in the year ahead?
Find out. Come to the CAAS Annual Meeting, Thursday, October 29, 2009, 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Somerville City Club, 20 Innerbelt Road. “We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet with our community and celebrate the accomplishments of the past year as we commit ourselves to work together in the future,” said Executive Director Kimberly Smith-Cofield.
David Magnani, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network, will be the guest speaker at the October 29 event, which will be emceed by Somerville Chamber of Commerce Board member Michelle Mulvena of Moschella and Winston. A new video about CAAS’ work will debut at the meeting. Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and live music will introduce the evening.
