The following is a press release from the City of Somerville:

Mayor Joseph Curtatone and Recreation Superintendent Jim Halloran announce open enrollment for the 2010 Recreation Summer Youth Program.  The full-day, 40-hour per week summer program is offered to Somerville youth ages 5-13 from June 28 – August 13, 2010, and youth may register for one to six weeks of the program.

This program is available on a first-come first-serve basis, and 80 children per week are accepted into the program.

The 2010 Summer Youth Program is open from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, at the West Somerville Neighborhood School, located at 177 Powderhouse Boulevard.  The full-time program is offered at $100.00 per week, and incorporates arts & crafts, private swimming, sports and games, as well as additional field trips. Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon ice cream snack is included daily.  For safety reasons, each child is given a program t-shirt which must be worn each and every day.

If you would like further information, please contact Danielle Palazzo at the Recreation Department, 19 Walnut Street, (617) 625-6600 ext. 2980.   A completed application and a $25.00 deposit per week will hold your weeks of interest.  Please register early, space is limited.
