The following is a press release from the Somerville Public Library:

HOLIDAY CLOSING
The Libraries will be closed on Thursday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.  Regular library hours (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) will resume on Friday, November 12th.

I DWELL IN POSSIBILITY
Join us at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) on Saturday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. for a special performance of "I Dwell in Possibility,” an original one-act play about the friendship between Emily Dickinson and Mabel Todd Loomis.

The friendship began as a mutual admiration between the shy, secretive Emily and the radiant and sophisticated Mabel, a writer and friend of the Dickinson family.  Later, Mable found through Emily a voice for her own painful secret and became determined to share her discovery with the world.  Emily and Mable come to life in this original musical play by Somerville resident Miriam Raiken-Kolb.  Those unfamiliar with Dickinson will enjoy an introduction to some of her greatest and most engaging poetry.  Others will gain insights into her works as they are interpreted in a new musical context.  Performed by Miriam Raiken-Kolb and Kelly Demers.

This free performance is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  All are welcome to attend.

ROBOT STORYTIME & CRAFT
On Sunday, November 14th at 2:00 p.m., join Ellen and Walter Jacobs at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) for stories about robots, then stay and make fantastic construction paper robots of your own!  All are welcome for this free program.  We hope you can come!

SING ALONG WITH LIZA KITCHELL
Come join us at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) as library favorite Liza Kitchell hosts sing alongs on Mondays at 11:00 a.m. in November and December.  Liza's programs are always lively and full of fun - we hope you'll be able to come!

These sing alongs are recommended for young children and families.  They are funded by the Friends of the Library and all are welcome to attend.

WORLD PEACE DAY: A HALF-DAY HALF-HOUR WITH TAMMY MCKANAN
Join Tammy McKanan at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) for a half hour of fun exploring different themes once a month when Somerville Public schools have a half day scheduled.  On Wednesday, November 17th at 2:00 p.m. it’s World Peace Day.  This free program is recommended for kids age 7 and older.  We hope you can come!
