WILD TALES GOES TO THE FARM

What is an urban farm?  Why do people have farms in cities?  Why grow an edible garden and who eats it?  Can animals live in urban farms?  What kinds? Kids ages 6 to 12 will answer these questions and many more as we play games, learn traditional songs and dances, study chickens and bees, and meet people who grow edible landscapes and vegetable gardens.  Session I of Wild Tales Goes to the Farm meets at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue) Wednesdays, March 2nd through 23rd from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

For more information, or to register, call Liza Kitchell at 617-628-6685 or email her at lpkitchell@aol.com.

This free program is offered by the Somerville Community Growing Center's Children in Nature Initiative.  It is funded in part by grants from the Somerville Arts Council and the Friends of the Somerville Public Library.

MYSTERY BOOK GROUP

If you love mysteries, why not come to a meeting of the mystery book discussion group at the Central Library (79 Highland Avenue)?  The group reads and discusses all sorts of mysteries and chooses books by consensus.  The next meeting will be on Wednesday, March 2nd at 7:00 p.m. to discuss Boston Noir, a book of short stories edited by Dennis Lehane.  This book discussion group is free, and new members are welcome.  We hope to see you there!
