A 12-screen movie theater is coming to Somerville's planned Assembly Row complex, a developer said today.
AMC Theatres signed a lease agreement for a 60,000 square-foot parcel. Construction is slated to begin in the spring and is scheduled to open with the first phase of the development, according to Federal Realty Investment Trust.
“The features and amenities we’re including will make this a compelling entertainment destination and among the best theaters in the country,” said Mark McDonald, executive vice president of Global Development at AMC Theatres, in a statement.
In addition to the 12 screens, AMC is considering building a MacGuffins bar and lounge and an IMAX auditorium.
