Somerville Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone made it an even dozen Thursday after he chalked up another win on radio station WFNX's weekly song contest.

The mayor beat Johnny Earle, founder of the T-shirt company Johnny Cupcakes, which has locations on Newbury Street and in Los Angeles.

Earle's selection, "Back to School," by the Deftones, was bounced by some serious social media power, backed by followers of the band The Pixies. Curtatone selected one of the band's most commercially recognized tunes, "Here Comes Your Man."

The Pixies promoted Curatone's selection, and encouraged its 78,000 Twitter followers to vote for him.
