For the third year, Somerville will launch its "one city, one book" campaign, with this year's theme centering on food and the urban farmer.

This year organizers have selected two books, one for adults and another for children: "Seedfolks," by Paul Fleischman, a children's novel, and "Farm City: The Education of an Urban Farmer," by Novella Carpenter.

Both books are available for loan at Somerville Public Library locations.

Two discussions are scheduled in April, according to the Library. Jessie Banhazl of Green City Growers will talk about Farm City April 5 at 7 p.m. in the Central Library. Another talk about Farm City is slated for April 25 at the Sherman Cafe on Washington Street.

"Seedfolks" will be the topic on April 17 at 7 p.m. for a discussion for children age 9 to 12, with a follow up talk April 22 for all ages.

On April 21 at 1 p.m., a community potluck will celebrate the release of a community cookbook. The afternoon will feature music by the Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library.
