Arrest made in Saturday robbery of Somerville bank

Michael Tucker, 45, was arrested in Salem, N.H., after this photo was released of the man who robbed the Union Square Citizens Bank Saturday morning.

Local and federal agents Tuesday arrested a 45-year-old man accused of robbing the Citizens Bank in Union Square Saturday morning.

Michael Tucker was apprehended at a Red Roof Inn in Salem, N.H., by a team from the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, the US Marshals Service, and police from Somerville and Salem, N.H.

Tucker was recognized by police from Westwood, who knew Tucker from an unrelated investigation. He was charged with a federal parole violation. Charges from the Saturday robbery are expected to come soon.

According to police, a man entered the Citizens Bank about 11:20 a.m. Oct. 13 and handed a note to a teller demanding money, and said that he had a gun.
