For a second year First Church Somerville (UCC) will celebrate all that is Drag during what is being billed as “Drag Gospel Festival” in and around the church’s Davis Square Neighborhood.

In addition to the second annual Drag Gospel Brunch on Sunday October 21st at the Church, this year will include a free Saturday show at Johnny D’s Uptown.

“Because we had an overflow crowd for last year’s Drag Gospel worship service and brunch, we decided that this year to celebrate for two days,” said Rev. Molly Phinney Baskette, Lead Pastor. “We found that people of all faiths, genders and ages coming together to celebrate who they are while listening to great gospel music from beautiful drag queens and kings was a wonderful testimony to what our church believes and practices every day.”

All events are free and open to the public. A free will offering will be taken to benefit LGBT Asylum Task Force.
