A car slid down Laurel Street Wednesday morning, striking several vehicles parked on the side of the road before it "punched" the foundation of a home at the corner of Laurel Street and Laurel Terrace, Somerville Fire Chief Kevin Kelleher said.
"It was definitely weather-related," Kelleher said.
The accident occurred about 7 a.m. and the scene was cleared by 8 a.m., Kelleher said. Initial reports indicated the damage was significant, but a closer review by fire officials and the city's building inspector found it to be relatively minor, Kelleher said.
Laurel Street, which is on a hill, was slippery with newly fallen snow this morning, Kelleher said.
No one was hurt in the accident and the home remains inhabitable, Kelleher said.
