In a reversal of a decision announced by Mayor Joseph Curtatone Monday, Somerville Public Schools will be open Wednesday, according to an announcement from the city.

The city's snow emergency, which limits parking to the odd-numbered side of the street, will be lifted at 8 p.m., the announcement said. Once the ban is lifted, cars may park on either side of the street, but must allow at least 10 feet for cars to pass.

In a press conference Monday, Curtatone and Somerville Superintendent Tony Pierantozzi announced school would be canceled Tuesday and Wednesday. But enough progress had apparently been made clearing bus stops, school lots, and improving visibility at intersections to open school Wednesday.
