Democrats in Somerville will work toward establishing platforms on more than a dozen subjects in an upcoming public hearing.

The hearing is scheduled for March 7 at 6 p.m. at the Somerville Public Library. Democrats from neighboring communities also may attend, as the city's platform committee will take input on stances on Education, Healthcare and Human Services, Labor, Economic Growth, Energy and Environment, Transportation and Infrastructure, Public Safety and Crime Prevention, Revenue and Expenditures, Ethics and Transparency, Justice and Civil Rights, Voting and Democracy, and Business and Entrepreneurship, according to an announcement.

The work is being done in advance of the state's Democratic Convention, set for July 13 at Tsongas Arena in Lowell.
