The City of Somerville declared a snow emergency Thursday night in advance of an expected substantial snowstorm Friday and Saturday.
The declaration was effective at 10 p.m. Thursday. It requires all residents to park only on the odd-numbered side of the street. The city began ticketing and towing vehicles at 2 a.m. Friday, according to an announcement. Parking on the wrong side of the street carries a fine of $100.
