An elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's disease who went missing Sunday morning in Somerville was found that evening in Charlestown, according to police.

Joao Correia, 84, went missing from his Magoun Square home about 10 a.m., and family members contacted Somerville police at about 4 p.m., Deputy police Chief Paul Upton said in an email. The city issued an emergency bulletin about 7:40 p.m. asking for the public's help finding him.

Shortly after 11 p.m., Somerville Police reported that Correia had been found in Charlestown. A woman spotted him walking along Route 99, near the Charlestown/Everett line, and called 9-1-1, Upton said. He was checked by emergency responders before being reunited with his family, Upton said.
