Historic Somerville homes, Tufts buildings honored for preservation

Ten Somerville homes and four buildings owned by Tufts University have been honored for the quality of their historic preservation.

The Somerville Historic Commission handed out the Somerville Preservation Awards in a ceremony Thursday.

The following properties won the Preservation Award, given to homes designated as historic properties:

  • 17-19R Aldersey St.
  • 28 Beacon St.
  • 91 Boston St.
  • 237 School St. 
Six homes not designated as officially historic won the Director's Award:

  • 72 Alpine St.
  • 42 Browning Rd.
  • 67 Church St.
  • 4 Jerome St.
  • 33 Moore St.
  • 46 Quincy St.
Tufts University was given the Good Stewardship Award for the historic preservation of 503 Boston Ave., 8 Professor's Row, 92 Professor's Row and 169 Holland St.
