Six years after being heavily damaged by a fire, the East Somerville Community School is set to reopen for the 2013-2014 school year.
A grand reopening for the new facility, which has been under construction since 2011, is slated for Sept. 3 at 6:30 p.m. The $40-million project includes an auditorium and gymnasium.
Students who would have previously attended the 40-classroom school have been dispersed to other city elementary schools since 2007.
The reopening ceremony will be held at the East Somerville Community School on Cross Street.
