The Southie-based Boston Beer Company, brewers of Sam Adams, will begin selling its first sparkling beer, called Infinium, in December.

The beer, which will be sold in $20 750 ml bottles, is the result of a partnership between Boston Beer and Bavarian-based Weihenstephan Brewery, reflects the nearly thousand-year-old brewing technique of Reinheitsgebot, the German purity laws that require beers be made with only malt, hops, water and yeast.

The partnership between the two companies was first announced in October of last year, and was originally slated to come out this spring, but was pushed back to December, and is now being marketed for the holiday season.
