Even though the wind maybe blowing a little harder and the days are getting a little shorter, that doesn’t mean there aren’t tons of great outdoor events happening in South Boston this weekend. Here’s a look at some events happening in your backyard.

The 12th annual South Boston Street Festival will be kicking off Saturday at 11 a.m on East Broadway, between I and L streets. The event will run till 5 p.m. and have a little of everything -- from Irish step dancing to some of the best food the city has to offer.

If one festival wasn’t enough for you, the Our Lady of Czestochowa Church will be hosting its annual Polish Festival Sunday. Along with plenty of pierogies, the event, which runs from noon to 6:00 pm at 655 Dorchester Ave., will have cultural booths, games, and music. Also make sure to bring the children because there will be tons of kid's activities and games.

Maybe you want to do something to honor your local veterans. The South Boston Vietnam Memorial at the M Street Park is commemorating its 30th Anniversary Sunday. The rededication will start at 11:30 a.m and run until 2:00 p.m. US Senator James Webb of Virginia will be the guest speaker.
