New liquor store coming to West Broadway in South Boston
The Boston Licensing Board granted a license today for a new liquor story in South Boston.
Two neighborhood residents, John Libonati and Chris Schutte, plan to open Social Wines at 52 West Broadway St. in January.
The store will be open seven days a week with a 10 p.m. closing, an opening hour has not been established as of yet.
Libonati, they plan to sell small batch wine, beer and spirits but will not be selling lottery tickets or tobacco products.
The store will also be selling top shelf single-serve nips. Libonati said they will not be selling the cheaper ones nor 40-ounce beers.
The approximately 1,100-square-foot store will also include a tasting room.
“We are trying to create an atmosphere that is less intimidating so everyone can come and learn and enjoy our products,” Libonati said.
