Another reality series for Southie?
(Patrick D. Rosso/Boston.com/2012)
The pop culture spotlight continues to shine on South Boston as A&E, the network that brought reality TV shows such as “Storage Wars” and “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” to the public, turns its attention and cameras on South Boston.
According to Variety, which covers entertainment news, the network is slated to announce Wednesday that it will be offering a show titled “Southie Rules”, which will follow a South Boston-based family “as they battle the relentless gentrification of their neighborhood.”
The show, according to Variety, will be produced by Somerville-based Powderhouse Productions.
According to Boston-based blog Universal Hub, A&E’s show is the sixth reality show pitched for South Boston.
