East First Street project in South Boston approved by Boston agency

The Boston Redevelopment Authority’s Board recently approved 23 new residential units for East First Street in South Boston.

The project proposed by Oranmore Enterprises, LLC, is located at 637 East First St. and will feature a 29,211-square-foot four-story building to house five one-bedroom, and 18 two-bedroom, condominium units.

Plans for the $7.2 million project also include the creation of 24 parking spaces.

Developers estimate construction should begin in the fall of 2012

The BRA estimates the project will create 75 construction jobs.
