Stephanie’s, the swanky Newbury Street eatery, will be opening a third location, in South Boston, according to owner Stephanie Sidell Sokolove.
The restaurant, which has a location on Newbury Street and another on Tremont Street in the South End, plans to open a full service restaurant at 11 West Broadway, the former home of the Quiet Man Pub and location of a new mixed-use development by Ron Simons of Natick-based Bodwell Pine Corporation.
“We really were looking for a densely populated area with a lot of foot-traffic and that corner is really appealing,” said Sokolove. “I feel like we’re a neighborhood restaurant.”
The hours for the new location haven’t been set, but Sokolove said it will most likely open sometime around 11:30 a.m. Closing hours will be dependent on the provisions in the liqour license, which the restaurant is currently in the process of purchasing.
The restaurant will serve comfort food with lunch and dinner seven-days-a-week and brunch on the weekends.
Sokolove, who is in the process of obtaining the proper city licenses and has signed the lease with Simons, said she would like to be open by April.
"We're really looking to cater to the neighbors," added Sokolove.
Representatives from Stephanie’s also recently met with the West Broadway Neighborhood Association.
"Stephanie's is what we are looking for," said Bill Gleason, president of the West Broadway Neighborhood Association. "We're hungry to see retail. It will start to fill in that strip and make it a dining destination."
The new location at 11 West Broadway will be part of Simon’s six-story, 95,000 square-foot rental structure with 50 residential units, 26 parking spaces, and four commercial spaces.
At a meeting in March, Simons told the West Broadway Neighborhood Association that he expects the project to be completed by the end of the year. Simons also informed the group in March that Starbucks and Subway have signed on to occupy two of the ground-floor commercial spaces.
