A group of South Boston artists stole the show last weekend during the Quincy Art Association’s Marina Bay Arts Affair exhibit.
Artists at the 17th annual event didn’t stand a chance when Dan McCole, Deb Putnam, and Maureen Murphy, all members of the South Boston Arts Association, showed up with their colorful creations.
Putnam took first place in the oil-painting category, with her lifelike painting of a corner store scene in Chinatown.
McCole chose a more traditional subject matter, a float in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, scoring a first place ribbon in the watercolor category.
Murphy doubled-downed at the exhibit, claiming third place for her oil painting of everyone’s favorite breakfast, a cup of Dunkin’ Donuts coffee and jelly donut. Murphy also received a honorable mention for one of her still life paintings.
In addition to the trio’s works, paintings by Harold Cunniff, photographs by Pauline Margarone and a painting by Chery Ward were also featured in the exhibit.
