The location of the proposed project.
Residents will get their chance to voice their opinions on the Gate of Heaven School project Wednesday night.
A community meeting at the Tynan Elementary School Cafeteria has been set for 6:30 p.m. and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
The project, proposed by Boston-based Berkeley Investment, Inc., includes the rehabilitation and conversion of the former elementary school, closed in 2009, into rental residential units, according to documents filed with the Boston Redevelopment Authority.
The 39-unit project located at 609 East Fourth St., which is adjacent to the recently approved Gate of Heaven Gymnasium project, will consist of four levels of units made up of studios, one-bedrooms, and two bedroom units. Parking for up to 44 vehicles will be provided on-site and five units will be deemed affordable.
Little work will be done to the building’s exterior brick finish, but a set-back rooftop garden will be constructed, according to the group’s Project Notification Form filed with the BRA.
Wednesday’s meeting will be held at 650 East Fourth St., for a copy of the Project Notification Form, click here.
