As Hurricane Sandy began to lash the coast of Southeastern Massachusetts, a windsurfer ventured out into Pleasure Bay Monday morning.

"Its a lot of fun out there, this is probably the windiest time I've surfed,'' said Nikita Piankov, 37, a consultant from Boston.

There were some strong gusts, choppy water, about a dozen people watching the water from their cars.

"I think these guys (windsurfers) are crazy,'' said John Fraser, 42 Everett resident, as he smoked a cigar and watched the windsurfer in pleasure bay.
