VH1 revealed the first preview for the Boston-based reality TV show "Wicked Single" on Wednesday.
If there was any question about what sort of reality show to expect, this promo answered it.
In a bar, the six characters wax poetically about life in the city, ("Boston is a city of ****ing champions") take shots, tear shirts off, and stumble down cobblestone streets in high heels.
"Work hard and party harder," says one character in a voice over that might be considered a parody of Julianne Moore's parody of a South Boston accent in "30 Rock."
To emphasize the connection to MTV's controversial "Jersey Shore," VH1 included this in the first line of their blog post:
Just like American treasures of New Jersey and Staten Island previously depicted on the small screen, Boston is a unique gem deserving of the love and attention of television cameras.
The show will premiere on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, at 11 p.m. There will be eight hour-long episodes. For more details, check out our previous coverage.
Note: Is that the instrumental version of Dropkick Murphy's "Shipping up to Boston" in the background of the promo? Think that will be the show's intro music, as well?
Also, does anyone recognize the bar and street in the promo? Let us know in the comments.
