A longstanding St. Patrick’s Day tradition will continue this weekend and feed some hungry seniors.

The annual Tom and Eddie Butler Senior Salute, a highlight for both the volunteers and seniors, will be held Saturday at the St. Monica’s Church Hall in South Boston.

Put on by the South Boston Citizens’ Association, the free meal gives seniors a taste of the old country with plenty of corned beef, cabbage, and mashed potatoes.

The event, which often features singing politicians, will begin at 11 a.m., Mar. 2, at St. Monica’s located at 331 Old Colony Ave.

The event is free and open to all seniors. To find out more about the event or how to get involved, click here.
