A South Boston resident is working to fight hunger in Massachusetts, according to Project Bread.

Josh Hulseberg is just one of 13 campaign associates helping to organize Project Bread’s upcoming Walk for Hunger, which benefits the non-profit.

In the past more than 40,000 people have taken part in the 20-mile pledge walk that winds through Greater Boston.

“Each plate of food is going to someone with a different struggle,” Hulseberg said in a statement. “The 40,000 people who walk and raise money on May 5th will directly help a huge number of individuals like those at Pine Street Inn.”

Project Bread is the state’s leading anti-hunger association. Through its Walk For Hunger millions of dollars are raised each year to support 430 community food programs in 125 communities statewide, according to its website.
