A project that could bring new residential units to Wendell Place in South Boston is going back to the drawing board.
George Morancy, an attorney for owner Owen Kiernan, appeared before the city’s Zoning Board of Appeals Tuesday morning seeking a delay on the board's decision for the proposed project at 7 Wendell Place.
Morancy said his client will be adjusting plans and will continue conversations with community members.
Kiernan originally proposed a four-story structure for six residential units and parking. Morancy said after the hearing that his client plans to drop the project to three stories for five units, with a parking place for each unit.
It hasn’t been determined whether the units will be rentals or condominiums.
The project was granted a delay by the board, and its new hearing is set for Jun. 4.
The Wendell Place project is also part of a proposal by Kiernan to subdivide an adjacent lot on Ward Street and use some of the space for the project at Wendell Place. That decision was also deferred by the board until Jun. 4.
