Madison Properties and the Boston Redevelopment Authority will be before the Fort Point community Monday to present a 414-unit residential building proposed for the site at 399 Congress Street, dubbed by some the “sausage parcel.”

Madison, which first looked at the site in 2006 for a hotel, now proposes constructing a 22-story, 377,000-square-foot building at the uniquely shaped site for studios, one-, two-, three-bedroom units, and “extended stay units.”

Developers will be before the community Monday, May 13, from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. to discuss the new proposal. The meeting will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center located at 415 Summer St., Room 52A.

The project, which follows the ideals of the Innovation District, includes live/work space, ground-floor retail, and smaller units.

The second- and third-floors are proposed to hold 60 “innovation units,” smaller units that include shared community spaces along with resident and business amenities.

The fourth- through 20th-floors will hold a mix of studios, one, two, and three-bedroom units.

A three-level underground parking garage is proposed to hold 144 vehicles.
