DCR road closures and parking restrictions for Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in South Boston

WHAT: The Department of Conservation and Recreation will institute parking restrictions and road closures along several streets in South Boston on Saturday, September 28, as well as Sunday, September 29 to help facilitate the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event. Commuters are advised to seek alternate routes.

WHERE: No parking from I street to the Farragut Statue at East Broadway from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, through Sunday, September 29, at 12:30 p.m.

Road Closures - Sunday September 29, 2013

Beginning at 5:00 a.m., the following road closures will be instituted:
-Columbia Road from Prebble Circle to G Street
-Babe Ruth Drive
-William J. Day Boulevard will be closed from Kosciuszko Circle to G Street

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. The following road closures will be instituted:
-William J. Day Blvd from G Street to the Farragut Statue at East Broadway will be closed.

Parking lots:

Carson Beach - McCormack Bathhouse parking lots
-Lot #2 (North Lot) will be closed on Saturday September 28, from 7:00 a.m. until Sunday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m.
-Lot #1 (South Lot) will be closed on Sunday, September 29, from 4:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

There will be No Parking at the parking lot along Day Blvd at Pleasure Bay from 10:00 p.m. Saturday, September 28 through 1:00 pm Sunday, September 29.


South Boston Residents – Temporary Resident Parking

Temporary Resident parking will be available for resident’s vehicles displaying a resident parking sticker at the angled parking spots from Shore road to the entrance of Castle Island.
