Members of Planet Southie, the green advocacy group in South Boston, are expected to present the group’s First Annual Green Globe Awards Thursday night.
The awards seek to highlight those in the seaside neighborhood who have gone above and beyond to make the community greener and cleaner.
In the individual category, local residents Mary Cooney and Lucky Devlin will be presented with the Legacy Award, Jon Ramos of Southie Bikes will be presented with the Newcomer Award, and Mary Lou Rosher, director of the South Boston Farmers’ Market, will be presented with the Heart of Kindness Award.
In the organizations category, South Boston Grows will be presented with the Seeds of Hope Award, the South Boston Youth Ambassadors will be presented with the Daring Dreamers Awards, and the South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation will be presented with the Connector Award.
All awards will be distributed Thursday at the Distillery Building located at 516 East 2nd St.
Thursday's event, which is open to the public, is expected to run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
