Washington Gateway Main Street elects new officers to board
Washington Gateway Main Street has announced the election of three new officers to its Board of Directors. They were elected unanimously by their fellow board members, according to a press release.
The announcement marks the end of a four-year tenure as board president for Guy Busa, a civil engineer and longtime South End resident.
He was replaced by Marc LaCasse, formerly the board's vice chairperson and clerk, who has served on the board for four years. A lawyer at the McCormack firm, where he specializes in real estate law, LaCasse has served high profile clients like the Church of Scientology, which is planning to revamp the old Ivory Bean and Alexandra Hotel buildings on Washington Street.
Craig Nicholson, an expert in sustainable development who is currently serving on the city's Citizens Advisory Committee for the Christian Science Plaza revitalization project, will replace LaCasse as vice president.
Michael Semizoglou was elected treasurer. The assistant vice president for commercial lending at Framingham Cooperative Bank and an expert in lending to small businesses, he has advised Washington Gateway Main Street for almost ten years.
