BPD's District D-4 sees drop in burglaries and robberies

The Boston Police Department’s DistrictD-4 office, which covers the South End, Back Bay and Fenway, saw a drop in burglaries and robberies compared to this time last year, according to data provided by BPD.

From Jan. 1 – Feb. 12 the area saw 29 robberies and attempted robberies in 2011, eight more than in 2012. The district also saw a drop in burglaries and attempted burglaries for the same period, from 47 in 2011 to 41 in 2012.

Rape and attempted rape also dropped with four reported in 2011 and only one reported in 2012.

The area saw a slight jump in aggravated assaults, from 28 in 2011 to 32 in 2012. The area also had its first homicide this year on Feb. 9, with none reported at this time in 2011.
