Construction has begun at the old Hite Radio and TV building that is being razed to make way for a condo development.

Construction at the site at 1672 Washington St. began Monday, August 20, according to an e-mail from owner David Goldman.

Goldman, of New Boston Ventures, is demolishing the single-story structure and replacing it with a six-story residential building with nine condo units and four off-street parking spaces.

Goldman has previously estimated the project will take 11 to 12 months to complete.

The project was approved by the city’s Zoning Board of Appeal in April with support from elected officials and neighborhood associations.
