From neighborhood parks to private patio gardens, the 20th annual South End Garden Tour is set to showcase the beauty of urban gardens and the creativity of their owners across the neighborhood.

The self-guided tour of 20 private gardens features different gardens every year. This year, the gardens will be located within the boundaries of the Southwest Corridor, Dartmouth Street, Tremont Street, and Rutland Square.

One returning feature from last year will the artists working in each garden. The artists will paint throughout the tour and then sell their works at the reception and art sale at City Year Headquarters on Columbus Avenue after the tour.

This year's tour is scheduled for June 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour-goers start at the South End Branch of the Boston Public Library on Tremont Street where they receive a tour booklet with a detailed map and descriptions of each garden.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 the day of the event. Proceeds benefit the South End & Lower Roxbury Community Gardens through Boston Natural Areas Network, a nonprofit organization that owns and protects community gardens and urban green spaces.
