The following was submitted by The Stoneham Chamber of Commerce:
The Stoneham Chamber of Commerce will kick off its Summer Concert Series on Thursday evening, June 27 with its annual Scholarship Award Ceremony at 6:00pm, and a new children’s patriotic parade at 6:30pm.
The Chamber is proud to award four high school seniors with its Kathleen E. Bray and John F. Mahoney, Jr. scholarships for 2013. Recipients are Stoneham High School seniors Jared Macone, Amanda Columbus and Jourdan Tayler Powers, and Reading Memorial High School senior Jared Hackley.
The Chamber’s Summer Concert Series Committee will hold the first children’s patriotic parade on the Stoneham Town Common, at 6:30. Children are invited to decorate their bicycles, tricycles, doll carriages and wagons in celebration of the upcoming July 4th holiday. Chamber member Hallmark Health System’s North Suburban Child & Family Resource Network will coordinate and lead the parade on its course through the common.
At 7:00pm, the Northeast Navy Band will begin its performance in a musical tribute to our July 4th holiday, along with other popular concert band selections.
